It's Saturday morning and the alarm clock rings at 7:30 AM, which to most people would seem like a reasonable hour to wake up. However, for me, the weekend means putting away the early morning routine and allowing myself to sleep in a bit. But why is that?
Breaking the Routine
During the week, I'm up before the sun even rises, rushing to get ready and make it to work on time. But on weekends, I like to take it slow and allow myself to ease into the day. Skipping breakfast is a conscious choice that I make so that I can savor this quiet time while everyone else is still asleep.
Going Against the Norm
Most people believe that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and missing it can lead to all sorts of health issues. However, I believe that as long as I'm eating a balanced diet throughout the day, skipping breakfast isn't going to cause any harm. In fact, it allows me to enjoy my coffee without feeling bloated or rushed.
No Regrets
I know that some may find this weekend routine odd, or even unhealthy. But for me, it's a chance to break from the usual routine and indulge in a little self-care. Of course, I don't skip breakfast every day of the week, but on the weekends, I allow myself to embrace this lazy morning routine without any regrets.
So, this Saturday morning, I'll hit snooze for a few more hours before getting up to start my day. And as I sip my coffee, I'll enjoy the silence of the early morning, knowing that I'm not alone in my atypical weekend routine.
